… for their generous grant to Kernos of £12,500 to enable us to provide an extra 500 face to face to face or online counselling sessions to clients who were unfunded and could not afford to donate toward the costs of the sessions.

This grant has enabled 92 vulnerable disadvantaged clients to be heard and supported. It enabled them to cope better with their present circumstances, and to engage more with other people in the community. They were able to recognise the possibilities of what they could achieve and that they could make positive choices in their lives and in the future fulfil their potential. The wider area of family, friends and the community benefit from them being able to engage positively and contribute on a meaningful level.

This grant reduced the number of people in crisis on the waiting list, waiting for support. The feelings of anxiety, depression and isolation were greatly reduced, with improved self -esteem, confidence and wellbeing and the increased ability to thrive at home, school and  in the community.
