Everyone at Kernos is extremely grateful to Suffolk Community Foundation, for presenting our project to private donors, for funding.

This project is to work with adults and children who are unfunded and who are unable to contribute more than a few pounds towards the cost of sessions, and who are on our waiting-list for support longer. For such unfunded clients, the wait is currently 6-8 months, which is distressing for those who may be in crisis.

Thank you so much, to the private donors listed below, for recognising the need and awarding these grants to Kernos, which will enable us to provide vital support to vulnerable, unfunded clients:

Private Fund – JA £3,000

Technology Networks Fund £2,000

Brooks Grant-Making Fund £2,000

Private Fund, PPF Grant £3,000

Thank you for enabling us to fulfil our aim of equal access to all!

Combined, these grants will provide 418 sessions, for between 50-80 unfunded clients, and prevent them from having to wait longer for the support they need. The people who will benefit from this funding will experience improved self-esteem, motivation and confidence. Without this early intervention, people can face long-term anxiety and depression, which, in turn, can affect their children and family life.

Kernos is so grateful for every grant and donation we receive, which helps us to continue to provide counselling to local people in need, who cannot get help on the NHS, nor afford to contribute towards the cost of their counselling – but still desperately need help. We passionately believe in providing equal access to all, and not just to those who can afford to pay for therapy, or tick the right boxes for the NHS. That was why the Kernos Centre was formed, and why we still exist, today.
