We would like to express our gratitude to one of our clients, who has so generously responded to the Facebook Birthday Fundraiser, by asking friends to donate money to the Kernos Centre, instead of having birthday presents. This is what she wrote on Facebook, which she is happy for us to share:
“For my birthday this year, I’m asking for donations to Kernos Centre. I’ve chosen this charity because not only are they a local charity, but because, as lot of you will know I have struggled for a long time with mental health problems, now because of this fantastic charity I am finally able to access the one to one, face to face counselling that I have desperately needed for many, many years. Please, please, please, think about donating. I know that there is always a Facebook fundraiser going on, but even if you can donate £1, I would be so grateful.”
By doing this she has already raised £200 for Kernos and also made other people aware that it is OK to reach out for support, and that they can still get help for their mental health problems, during lockdown. We are still open.
We have continued supporting adults and children in the area during lockdown by providing video counselling sessions online and telephone counselling and also still providing face to face counselling sessions at the centre for those in urgent need.
If you would like support or information, please do contact us in the usual way, either by our contact page or by telephone or email.
