The Kernos Centre and St Nicholas Hospice are the two charities that the out-going President of Sudbury Rotary Club, Sandra Armitage, has been supporting during her year of office. Despite the presidential year being fraught with fund raising difficulties due to Covid, Sudbury Rotarians still managed to raise funds for both the charities.
Chris Boatwright, Director of Counselling, was invited by Sandra, to the Rotary meeting at the Mill on the 1st November, where Sandra presented her with a cheque to Kernos of £1,500.
Chris said “Everyone at Kernos is so deeply grateful to Sandra for choosing Kernos, and to all the Rotarian members for this money and for all the fundraising efforts that must have been put in, during a very difficult year.
We are using this money to provide counselling sessions, to people in the community, who are Carers or over the age of 65yrs.”
Chris also said she wanted to thank the current President, Gloria Woods, for the invitation to stay to lunch and to be able to experience the warmth and camaraderie of the Rotarians.
THANK YOU, SUDBURY ROTARIANS
