Michelle has been Chief Executive Officer of Kernos since 2025, having first joined the organisation as a Trustee in December 2023. Since stepping into the role, she has driven the modernisation and diversification of Kernos – strengthening our approach, broadening our reach, and ensuring the organisation continues to evolve to meet changing needs..

Michelle brings a depth of safeguarding knowledge and frontline experience that is central to her leadership. During her 12 years with NSPCC/Childline as an Insight Manager, she analysed the concerns shared by children and adults contacting their helplines, helping to identify emerging issues, inform national understanding, and influence policy.

Alongside this, Michelle volunteered as a Childline counsellor, supporting young people directly through some of their most difficult moments. This hands-on experience gives her a unique perspective as a leader of a counselling charity – grounded not only in data and strategy, but in a genuine understanding of the lived experiences, emotions, and complexities faced by those seeking support. It continues to shape her commitment to ensuring Kernos delivers compassionate, high-quality, and accessible services.

Michelle was also previously Director of Operations at the Bikeability Trust, where she supported the delivery of the government’s national cycle training programme for children.

Michelle lives in Bures with her husband, three rescue dogs and cat.
