Elizabeth Shane has had a second poetry book published, recently: “Rainbow of Promise”, which also contains the poem “For All Those Times”, that we shared on the Kernos website, last year.
Elizabeth says, “As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, I would like to raise awareness of how past trauma links with present difficulties, finding ways to manage the mental health struggles, when dealing with everyday life, drawing on the world around as an inspiration to live in the present moment, and the importance of not feeling silent, using the power of creative self-expression.
“I hope my work will empower other survivors, who are coping through their own challenges, to have a voice, and a right to be heard. ‘Rainbow of Promise’ is intended to encourage others embarking on their journey, to give them strength to find their own value, self-worth, and hope for a brighter future.”

Elizabeth Shane is a mother; poet and author of “Silhouette of a Songbird”; a volunteer within the local community, and survivor of childhood sexual abuse. “Rainbow of Promise” is her second collection of poems, following the aftermath of speaking out about her experience of familial sexual abuse, in her first poetry book.
