Kernos is delighted to thank the Bures Music Festival committee so much, for the generous donation of £750 to enable us to buy three new chairs for our counselling rooms.
This funding will enable us to buy three new chairs for the clients to sit on whilst having their counselling. This is especially for the elderly and disabled people coming to Kernos. These chairs will be for the two
downstairs rooms, which they are able to use. The chairs we have now are 20 years old and have low seats which they find difficult to get in and out of.
The new chairs will have higher seats and be high back chairs to give comfort, support and accessibility (easy to get in and out). This is important because each counselling session lasts for an hour. Also, the
elderly and disabled people prefer not to have to be helped to sit down and to stand up. They value their independence.
