We were honoured to attend the Mayor of Sudbury, Councillor Adrian Stohr’s Reception last night and are incredibly grateful that Kernos has been chosen alongside Number 72 as his charities for the year.
Throughout the evening, it was clear that the Mayor brings genuine passion, compassion, and a deep understanding of the importance of mental health and emotional wellbeing within our community. His commitment to supporting local people and the organisations that work alongside them is inspiring.
At Kernos, we see every day how complex life can become when mental health challenges are combined with physical health issues, financial pressures, and difficult life circumstances. That’s why partnership working matters.
We are two local charities who work side by side to ensure we can provide the best possible support to our community, combining therapeutic, practical, and ongoing accessible care to meet people’s needs.
One client who came to Kernos for counselling and was referred on to Number 72 by us described the impact of the support he received simply, but powerfully:
“One hour a week where someone is just listening to you with empathy and no judgement makes a real difference.”
We are deeply grateful to the Mayor for recognising the value of our work and for helping shine a light on the importance of mental health and emotional wellbeing across Sudbury and the surrounding communities.
We look forward to working together over the forthcoming year to raise vital funds and awareness for both charities, supporting even more people in need.
