Deb Photo

Deb joined Kernos in 2026. She is a qualified person-centred and psychodynamic counsellor and registered with the BACP and holds a Master’s degree in Social Science, Health and Wellbeing.

Her practice is grounded in a strong understanding of human development, recognising that effective therapy meets each person at their emotional and cognitive level -not simply their age or stage of life.

With over 20 years’ experience, she supports children, young people, and adults experiencing trauma, emotional distress, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. She has extensive experience working with children who have experienced abuse and trauma, understanding that young people often communicate through behaviour, play, and non-verbal expression. This informs her commitment to creating safe, attuned, and responsive therapeutic spaces where children can explore difficult feelings without fear of judgement. For younger clients, she integrates play-based approaches, using toys, art, and creative media to support expression where words may not yet be available, with a person-centred foundation that keeps each child’s pace, needs, and strengths central.

With adults, Deb offers a reflective and compassionate space to explore trauma, identity, relationships, and long-standing emotional patterns. Her psychodynamic training supports deeper exploration, alongside a consistently empathic and person-centred approach.

Across her work, she aims to help clients build resilience, trust, and a greater sense of safety and wellbeing.
