Kernos is delighted to offer adult service users the opportunity to engage in counselling sessions while walking outdoors in natural environments.
Walk & Talk Therapy can be particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, or low mood, as well as those who find traditional indoor therapy settings challenging.
“We are excited to introduce this service as an alternative way for people to access therapeutic support,” said Michelle Argent, CEO. “Being outdoors and moving at a gentle pace can help clients feel more at ease, which often allows for deeper reflection and a more natural flow of conversation.”
Research increasingly highlights the mental health benefits of spending time in nature and engaging in physical activity, both of which can contribute to improved mood, reduced stress levels, and enhanced overall wellbeing. Walk & Talk Therapy brings these elements together within a structured, supportive therapeutic framework.
Sessions are conducted by qualified therapists and are tailored to individual needs, ensuring confidentiality, safety, and professionalism at all times. Routes are agreed in advance, and clients can choose from a variety of local green spaces.
Accessing this therapy follows the same process as Kernos’ traditional counselling services. Service users simply select “Walk & Talk” as an option when completing the referral form.
