The Kernos Centre has recently registered with Recycle 4 Charity, a programme which enables inkjet cartridges from computer printers to be recycled, or re-purposed, instead of being incinerated, or sent to landfill sites – and which raises money for charities, in the process. Since its inception, in 2002, charities have received over £1,500,000.

To support Kernos in this way, please first visit their website, and select us as your chosen charity. You will then be able either to print off a free-postage label, to send your empty cartridges, or, if you prefer, request a collection box, to gather more, from friends and family. Kernos will receive money from Recycle 4 Charity, for all eligible cartridges sent to them – and each cartridge you send will add to the over 100,000kg which were recycled in just the first 10 years of the programme’s existence. Currently, it is estimated some 45 million cartridges end up in landfill in the UK, every year – and they will take up to 1,000 years to decompose! Reusing and recycling creates 6 times more jobs than landfilling and 36 times more than incinerating and the reused product can be back on the shelves within a month!

Please do your bit for the planet – and for Kernos!
