On 17th August, Kernos Centre was very pleased to welcome Tracey Fuller, from Suffolk Community Foundation, and Louisa and Karen, from the Technology Networks Fund. It was a very enjoyable meeting, discussing the work done both at Kernos and online, and for the visitors to see some of the artistic work carried out by child clients who come to Kernos.
Louisa and Karen presented a cheque for £2,000, from the Technology Networks Fund, to Chris Boatwright. This grant will help us to continue to provide counselling to people in desperate need, who cannot get timely help on the NHS, or afford to contribute towards the cost of their counselling. It will contribute to helping those most disadvantaged to access our counselling service, at a very difficult time in their lives. We are very grateful to the Technology Networks Fund for choosing Kernos as a charity to support.
We are also grateful to everyone at the Suffolk Community Foundation, who are extremely helpful and supportive in every aspect of applying for grants such as this, and obtaining funding for our charity.
This support is vital to our organisation, and has been over many years. The Foundation saves us time and money (which we do not have), by having knowledge of funding sources and the ability to manage our applications. This helps us to sustain our community work, with the vulnerable and disadvantaged adults, children and young people, in our area of Suffolk.
