On Thursday, 17th March, Edward Creasy, the High Sheriff of Suffolk, visited the Kernos Centre, to present the team with the High Sheriff’s Group of the Year Award.
He was accompanied by Paul Whittingham, from Ashtons Legal, sponsors of the Group of the Year Award, who presented Kernos with a trophy, to be displayed at the Centre.
Sudbury Town Mayor, Sue Ayres, and Henry Tapp, from the Suffolk Community Foundation, also came, adding their support for Kernos, as they have done, over the years.
Everyone at Kernos was delighted, and really enjoyed the visit, and the recognition received. The High Sheriff stated that, “Mental Health and wellbeing are such important issues, particularly given the impact of Covid”. He expressed his personal thanks to everyone at Kernos, “especially to counsellors and volunteers, who provide an exceptional service, which is essential for the health and wellbeing of those who are in need”.
Kernos Finance Director, Peter Brown said, “We were thrilled and honoured to have been chosen for the award, from all the wonderful charities which do such good work throughout Suffolk. It was a great pleasure to welcome everyone to the Centre, on Thursday, to discuss what we do and to receive their continued support, which is so invaluable to all of us at Kernos.
