Prior to Covid and lockdown, we did not have any counsellors, administration staff, bookkeeping staff, or volunteers working from home. We therefore needed to facilitate home-working: we needed to have remote access to computers and ‘phones, to enable us to pick up messages left on the ‘phones at the Centre, asking for support.

Our new telephony and computer system supports service delivery and the management of volunteers. It provides advanced wireless activity, supporting home-working and making office-working much easier, too.

Thank You, Cllr Adrian Osborne, Chair of Babergh District Council!

We would like to thank Cllr Adrian Osborne for donating £1,500 from his locality budget, to finance the supply and installation of two new computers and the connection to Kernos resources. All Kernos data has now been migrated to secure cloud storage, which has made remore working easier and more secure. Cllr Osborne heard about our need, and he did not hesitate to lend his support.

Thank You, Community Action Suffolk – Suffolk Community Restart Fund…

… for providing £804. The telephone system we had was very old and did not support home-working. Suffolk Community Restart Fund provided three new ‘phone sets, which use a cloud system, and a new type of broadband service, that does not need to have a dial-tone line associated with it, and therefore also cuts monthly costs further.
