£7,500.00 from the Youth Intervention Fund to continue our work with children and young people and help them work through issues, which may be holding them back at school, work, college or school refusing or putting them in danger or at risk of anti-social behaviour, self-harming and risk of suicide.
£2,000.00 from the Martineau Fund to work with adults living in relative poverty, who cannot afford to pay for private counselling but cannot get help on the NHS. Early intervention enables vulnerable people to work with their problems, improving their mental health and achieving their potential and ability to thrive in the community.
Chris Boatwright, Clinical Director of Kernos, said: “Kernos is delighted and extremely grateful to both the Youth Intervention Fund and the Martineau Fund for providing this money. Both of these grants will make a huge difference by providing secure funding which will greatly assist us in providing support to adults, children and young people with mental health and other challenges who are referred to Kernos.
“We would also like to say a very big thank Suffolk Community Foundation for their continued support in obtaining funds. Having the knowledge of sources of funding and the ability to manage the process of our applications, their support allows us to sustain our community work.”
