Last year, Kernos was awarded a grant of £20,650  from the Reviving Our Community Fund – DCMS, via the Suffolk Community Foundation.  Not only was the amount very generous but this funding was invaluable because it was able to be used for both fixed costs and unfunded counselling sessions, and so covered all the costs of providing support.

This generous funding:

  • enabled Kernos to support 80 clients with their mental health and well-being, by
  • providing 503 counselling sessions to disadvantaged adults, children and young people in our area.
  • It enabled us to continue our work improving our clients’ lives.
  • It meant we were able to give equal access to all, regardless of their financial situation.

Supporting the emotional and mental health of adults, young people, children and their families can be critical in ensuring their problems or issues do not escalate.  Working through their problems in counselling enables vulnerable people to build their resilience, social and emotional skills, and self-esteem, leading to greater confidence and their ability to thrive, at home, work, school, and in the community.

Grateful thanks to all involved with the Reviving Our Community Fund and for the continued support from the Suffolk Community Foundation.
