On Friday, 26th March, Kernos held its annual Quiz Night, the 14th running of this very popular fund-raising event. This year it was a virtual Quiz, sponsored and organised by volunteer Janet Crawley. Janet booked the event with the professional company QuizQuizQuiz and a very enjoyable and fun-filled evening was had by regular supporters and some new ones joining us online.
We were very fortunate to have Quiz Master Jack Waley-Cohen, ex-President of the Oxford University Quiz Society and regular Quiz Question writer for the Only Connect TV show with Victoria Coren-Mitchell. It was an excellent evening, attended by 88 people, and raising £887.
We received many positive reviews, saying how the evening had allowed meeting in teams and seeing friends in such an enjoyable way, it felt “like an evening out”. The winning team was ‘Fordham’ with Ian and Wendy Vigrass and their family.
Financial Director and Trustee Peter Brown said “The Kernos Quiz is one of our biggest fund-raisers and one of a number of ways in which we try to attract desperately needed funding. We are deeply grateful to Janet for making the quiz possible again this year and for all the hard work she put in on behalf of Kernos and raising this valuable funding. ”
