Kernos to get fundraising boost from Waitrose in February

Each month Waitrose in Sudbury – as part of their company remit to help local community projects – selects three good causes to share a donation of £1000.

This February one of the three local charities that Waitrose has selected is the Kernos Centre – a welcome recognition of our continuing provision of professional counselling and support for people suffering from emotional and psychological difficulties in Sudbury and the surrounding area.

The donation scheme works like this: Waitrose shoppers are each given a green token at the checkout. They place their token into one of three boxes – labelled with the charity names – which are situated at the store exit. This enables shoppers to learn about and also actively support their preferred good cause. At the end of the month each charity receives a share of the total £1000 donation proportional to the number of green tokens placed in their particular box.

We hope that Waitrose customers will contribute their tokens generously to the Kernos cause during February, ensuring valuable support for our team of professional counsellors who treat upwards of 300 local people every year.

If you are not a Waitrose shopper – but would still like to help the Centre by providing vital funding – you can do so either by:

1) sending a cheque, made out to Kernos Centre, 32-34 Friars Street, Sudbury, Suffolk, CO10 2AG

or:

2) clicking on the Donate Now’ button at the top of the this page, and following the instructions

If you are a taxpayer, your contribution could also be eligible for Gift Aid – which means that every £10 contributed is worth £12.50 to us. For a Gift Aid Declaration form, please contact us – either at the above address or by e-mail at admin@kernos.org
