Sara has worked in a variety of settings as a counsellor. Currently, as well as working with adults, young people and couples at the Kernos Centre, she has a thriving Private Practice. She sees a variety of clients presenting with a wide range of issues.
Another area of specialisation is working with adults with learning disabilities. She is a regular tutor and programme lead on the BSc course from which she graduated and a supervisor of therapists. She is developing a small group programme for Kernos in Relaxation and Resilience.
Her ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programme includes working with Couples, Children and Young People.
As a counsellor, Sara integrates a number of different approaches and theoretical disciplines, all presented as part of a highly individualised and relational therapeutic encounter. She advocates a creative and personal engagement from her clients and meets them all as a person as well as a skilled professional, offering her opinions and views in an open and empowering way.
She encourages therapies of a variety of lengths, with some short term work and some lasting considerably longer, depending on the setting and the need of the individual. As a writer and a singer, she employs a creative and exciting environment for her clients of all ages to express themselves and find their voice. Her passion is facilitating the development of others.
