Joy qualified as a counsellor in 2000 and primarily uses a Person Centred approach to her work; she also employs skills from other types of therapy.
Joy’s CPD (Continuing Professional Development) has included workshops and courses in working with survivors of sexual abuse, childhood abuse, domestic violence & abuse, loss and bereavement, anger management, couples counselling, eating disorders and borderline personality disorder.
Joy’s experience has been varied, working with a wide range of issues affecting adolescents, individual adults and couples. She has undertaken short term focused counselling at GP practices and open-ended therapy sessions at counselling agencies as well as running her own private practice.
